I think you are right. Chrome is Google’s attempt to shape the future of the web by seeding the wed developers with robust technical. While reading the Google Chrome comic, I had thoughts of Mozilla Firefox feature browser concept contest. Google was producing the future, while Mozilla was taking a poll. It is very scary the kinda resources Google can bring to bear on a problem. Chrome if nothing else, forget about it competing with IE or Firefox, will be remembered as pivotal point in cloud computing.

I’ve started explaining chrome as a WebApp Runtime. It has SQL datastore, Canvas, and a JIT.

Well said. This is exactly how I view Chrome. I believe people who are seeing Google Chrome as yet another browser are not getting the whole picture. Chrome and the competition it will generate will create a super environment for powerful Web applications.
