SurfRay Management

January 31, 2009

I did some poking around on Friday, January 30, 2008. One of the more interesting items was confirmation that SurfRay president Bill Cobb resigned from SurfRay earlier this month. There has been some chatter that he was forced out of the company. That’s not exactly on the money. I spoke with Mr. Cobb and he is interested in exploring leadership opportunities. With regard to the future of SurfRay, I can say with confidence that the company is indeed sailing in rough waters against a headwind. If an investment firm is poised to acquire the assets, that deal will have to be made quickly. In my opinion, time is running out for SurfRay.

I would really be interested in hearing what Mr. Cobb as to say about Martin Viese and SurfRay. It appears that Mr. Viese is saying that he made the decision to have him leave. What is the truth really?

    Sven,

It doesn’t really matter. End of the day Martin Veise is once again running the company himself. Only different this time – compared with when Surfray gobbled the bits and pieces of Mondosoft is that he hasn’t a Mark Bernquist or a Erik Killstrup, who both were instrumental in the Surfray leadership team to help him out with all his shortcomings and lack of Business Experience…

    – or anyone else for that matter, except for his wife who now has three or four jobs in Surfray these days. Natanya Goldschmidt’s linkedin profile doesn’t look to support her in these roles, pretty must like Martin’s doesn’t look impressive prior to surfray.

Only in Denmark. I think that his behavior is borderline criminal. I wonder if he made payroll for January?

    Lars Petersen,

I met a technical person from SurfRay. He was pleasant and said that the company was making progress. I don’t recall his name, and it seems he was wrong.

SurfRay started this blog by reciting Mark Twain, let me recite Frankie Boy “And now, the end is near, and so they face the final curtain” it has been confirm internally by Peter Scott Lind that SurfRay are not able to paid any Salary for January as the bank finally has closed the credit line.

Could we have a comment from Surfray? Where is Anton Lauridsen, Natanya Goldschmidt, Torben Ellert, Allan Hermansen or Martin Veise now?? Or the analyst Janus Boye who on 4th of December said “there is nothing wrong with Surfray”.

We all know where Bill Cobbs is these days and to quote him “Maybe these former employees are former employees for a reason. It has always been my experience that usually when people have an azz to grind they like to do it in the dark” .Bill get out of the Dark and enlighten us…

An what about Skælskør Bank represented by branch director Lars Petersen – who is also chairman in one of the Martin Veise estate in foreclose proceedings! Are the board of Directors in Skælskør Bank aware of this and did they approve his competence to act in the matter? And if how does that comply with the banks “good corporate governance” promise?

My guess is that Martin – once again is trying to restructure, by taking all assets to a new company leaving all debt and employees in the dark as he did in 2005. But it’s to late… according to Danish law the soon to be appointed trusteeship will off-course rescind a transaction so close to a bankruptcy.

I don’t know Stephen… is he – read Martin – a Bernie Madoff ? or just a very bad CEO with slender success and no business antenna?

    Lars:

I would be more than happy to speak with you privately. I do not think that this is the appropriate forum to have a dialog. I will clarify one point here however. My departure from SurfRay was initiated by me and me only. I resigned because of my own personal convictions, I was not fired nor asked to leave. If you wish to continue this dialog you can reach me via skype or by providing an email contact that I can use to reach you.

    Bill,
I have no interest in speaking to you privately, but thanks for offering it. I’m just glad on your behalf as I don’t think anyone should get involved with Martin Veise or Surfray, and I’m exhilarated by the fact that you discovered the truth, before the company goes bankrupt (later this month as none of the employees got their salary payment regarding January)

A month after this was written, the assets of SurfRay A/S were picked up by a new organization under the name SurfRay 2009 A/S. Although operations in Denmark were down for a short period, SurfRay Inc. handled support, sales and hosting for the worldwide operations to enable a smooth transition. The new leadership in Denmark has a strong drive towards the development of both the MondoSearch and Ontolica product lines and has moved the hosted solutions to new quad core blade servers. For more up to date information on the company and products please feel free to visit the website at http://surfray.com/.
