Ontolica Preview Software Highlights

February 3, 2011

Humans are primarily visual creatures and when we conduct searches, we usually follow the tedious practice of opening each document to find the one we want.  Ontolica Preview software eliminates the constant need to open individual documents, by simplifying searches through visual representation.  By using basic keyword searching, the software will scan every document that matches the term and visually return the document on the results page.

Without opening the file, you can preview it to see if it contains the information you need.  Also you can view multiple pages of the same document.  Ontolica will also conduct a deep analysis of the documents and highlight the relevant terms to preview.   If more than one document contains relevant information, they can be previewed side by side for comparison.  Ontolica can be used on any Microsoft Office documents and adapted to fit any SharePoint results page.

The preview software promises to increase results relevancy and save users time with a visual preview.  Ontolica is responding to a growing tendency in users to only skim a results page.  With a preview search, the software is satisfying a user’s visual needs while maintaining the integrity of keyword searching.  It appears that Ontolica is setting a standard for a new trend in searching.

A short demonstration video highlights Ontolica’s features and explains how it can open a whole new way to search.
